Another Successful 2 Post Lift Installation in Katlehong

Launch Technologies SA recently completed another professional 2 post lift installation at a workshop in Katlehong. Our installation team handled everything from site assessment to final demonstration, ensuring the client could operate the equipment safely and confidently from day one.

This installation featured the SAL240SC 2 Post N Shape Lift, a popular choice for independent workshops servicing passenger vehicles and light commercial bakkies. The 2 post lift’s 4-ton capacity handles the majority of vehicles on South African roads.

What’s Included With Every Installation

When you purchase a 2 post lift from Launch SA, installation isn’t an afterthought — it’s part of the service. Here’s what every client receives:

Site Assessment: Before installation day, we confirm your floor meets the requirements and your ceiling height accommodates the lift columns.

Professional Installation: Our trained technicians handle the complete setup, including anchoring, electrical connection, and hydraulic system testing.

Safety Demonstration: We don’t leave until you’re comfortable operating the 2 post lift. This includes proper arm positioning, safety lock engagement, and daily maintenance checks.

Documentation: You receive full operating instructions and warranty documentation for your records.

Floor Requirements for Your 2 Post Lift

A 2 post lift places significant load on your workshop floor. Before installation, your concrete must meet these minimum specifications:

Thickness: Minimum 100mm (4 inches) of reinforced concrete. For lifts over 4 tons, 150mm is recommended.

Strength: The concrete should have a compressive strength of at least 3,000 PSI (20 MPa). According to industry specifications, new concrete should cure for at least 28 days before installation.

Condition: No cracks, spalling, or expansion joints where the anchor bolts will be positioned. The floor must be level — slopes greater than 3 degrees require correction.

Clearance: You need a minimum ceiling height of 3.8 metres and a bay width of at least 3.6 metres for safe operation around the vehicle.

Not sure if your floor qualifies? Our team assesses this during the quotation process at no charge.
